Our meeting is organized by an incredible team of volunteers, and we’d love to have you join our team. Make new friends and help TWS-WS at the same time!
Session Chairs:
We are seeking individuals who are interested in volunteering in-person in Reno to serve as the chairperson for an oral technical session. The session chair will coordinate with their presenters and moderate a technical session at the conference which includes leading a 30-minute interactive discussion at the end of the talks. Session Chairs will be assigned in early December after the Call for Papers has closed and the papers have been sorted into session topics. If you are interested in serving as a session chair, please contact President-Elect and Meeting Chairperson: Katie Smith, presidentelect@tws-west.org
Judges for Student Posters or Oral Presentations:
Well-rounded communication skills are critical for wildlife biologists in report writing, preparing manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, or for oral presentation. The TWS-WS student award competition provides an opportunity for seasoned wildlifers to judge, encourage, and offer constructive criticism to future members of our profession. If you are interested in judging the student presentations and/or posters at the annual meeting, please contact Brian Barton at bbr258@yahoo.com . It doesn’t take much of your time, and once the papers have been sorted into sessions and time slots you may sign up directly in a Google Spreadsheet for the talks/posters you’d like to judge, and it’s fun! Papers will be judged using electronic forms, and judges may participate either in-person or virtually.
Student Volunteers:
Students are needed to staff the annual meeting registration table and/or help with audio visual during our presentations. We need both in-person and virtual volunteers in 2022. A limited number of students are eligible for discounted or free student registration to the meeting. For more information, visit our volunteer inquiry page: https://reno2022.tws-west.org/volunteer-inquiry/
Planning Committee:
Thank you to our 2022 Annual Meeting Planning Committee Team. We are recruiting for additional team volunteers. Please email projectmanager@tws-west.org for more information on open positions.
