Virtual and In-Person!
Due to uncertainties about Covid-19 next February, we are shifting to a HYBRID format for our 2022 Annual Meeting. This means you can choose to participate either in-person in Reno, or virtually. We’ll charge the same registration rate for either option so you can register early for the meeting and decide in January how you’d like to participate. No matter what -- you’ll get to network with Western Wildlifers, learn from each other about emerging wildlife science, grow your career with our workshops and advice channels, and engage together in the most fun way ever!
A Note About Registration Fees
It’s tricky planning a meeting during a pandemic, so we hope you’ll bear with us and support the Western Section during these tough times. It’s very important to the Western Section that we host our Annual Meeting in an inclusive way so that ANYONE in the Section who wants to participate is able to attend our meeting. Costs for hosting an in-person meeting (venue/food) are pretty similar to costs for hosting a virtual meeting (tech gear/tech staff) so we’re charging one flat registration fee and you can wait until a few weeks before the meeting to decide how you’ll participate.
Covid 19
Regarding Covid 19 We will follow all safety protocols as required by the State of California, the State of Nevada, and the CDC. The guidance currently requires that everyone must wear a mask at all times while indoors. The guidance may change and we will communicate any changes as they happen. The Western Section will also require that all who attend the meeting in-person be fully vaccinated, and we will require proof of vaccination.
